In this work, magnetic tape is stretched to the point where it transforms into thread. The fragile line is then looped through a knitting machine at varying densities, producing a textile surface whose subtle shifts in tension and thickness become a record of a changing pulse. As the tape is elongated, its original function as a carrier of encoded information begins to dissolve. The metallic oxides that once stored images, voices, and traces of time remain embedded within the material, yet the archive becomes unreadable—translated instead into rhythm, texture, and vibration. What once existed as data re-emerges as a tactile structure. Through repetitive mechanical processes, the work reveals line as a fundamental structural element and pattern as something primal: a language that precedes representation and connects bodily rhythms, weaving traditions, and systems of transmission. Oscillating between fragility and resistance, the piece inhabits a space between textile, drawing, and recording device, where memory is no longer accessed through playback but through material presence.
