The repetitive act of walking and kneeling while extending these lines across the floor recalls a gesture of prostration. The body becomes an instrument of measure and inscription, its rhythm marking space through duration. This slow, exacting practice unfolds as a ritual of purification, where discipline and attention open a field of silence. Once lifted and fixed overhead, the lines fall into catenary curves, linking the skylight to the ground. What was traced horizontally is reoriented into a suspended architecture, activating the vertical axis and drawing the viewer into a space of tension and release. The title refers to the alchemical phases Nigredo and Albedo, interpreted by Carl Jung as symbolic processes of dissolution and renewal—the meeting of darkness and light. A shifting geometry emerges, responsive to light and air, where the work oscillates between structure and breath, stillness and vibration.
